A unique materials technology: The patented Composite Flow Moulding process
With its Composite Flow Moulding (CFM) process, icotec has succeeded in setting new standards in the use of composites. Thanks to the CFM process, it is possible to manufacture fastening systems and other load-bearing components made of endless fibre reinforced thermoplastics. Pultruded rods with an endless fibre content of approximately 60 % and a thermoplastic matrix are moulded under heat and pressure into components. The great design freedom of the process allows for complex shapes, even free-formed surfaces in just one production step. The endless fibres remain intact. Therefore, the components show excellent properties with respect to fatigue, flexural strength, and shear and tensile strength. |
